They Did What? News from Canada's Non-Profits!
April 29 - A budget is not a plan. A budget supports a plan. So what plans do the governments of Canada and Ontario have for non-profits in 2012-13? In an environment in which cutting deficits is priority one, Canada’s non-profits that receive government funding were apprehensive heading into late March’s budget week. This means many of you may have breathed a sigh of relief when both appeared to be pretty benign in terms of spending on social programs. I think you will find your serenity short lived. The problem you will face is that there will be many... read more

And just who is this Tom Little anyway?
Tom Liitle is big. Six foot four. Two hundred and fifteen pounds … maybe two twenty …two twenty-five absolute tops, but only when his love of butter and orange juice starts creeping towards addiction.
So when Tom Little has an idea, it’s automatically a BIG idea. But that’s not the only reason.
Tom has spent his career working for, and with, non-profit organizations. That exposure, first as an executive director and then as an advisor to non-profits (you might use the term “consultant”), has given him many insights into how these strange and wonderful creations operate.
Along the way his colleague Nancy Collins Moulsdale joined the fray, bringing acuity and youthful enthusiasm to complement Tom’s years (Nancy describes them as many, many years) of experience.
When you call on Tom for planning (strategic, Board and management), for training, for research, or for special projects, you get two things: a skilled facilitator and an informed advisor.
For example, when it comes to planning, Tom starts by uncovering the knowledge and ideas of the organization's stakeholders (clients/customers, staff, management, Board, community partners). He knows they are the experts about their own agency. Then he adds to that knowledge and those ideas with his own, developed over his time working in the field.
Non-profit organizations are built on ideas. The better the ideas, the better the organization. Tom provides you with the best ideas available!
